TRANSCRIPT
How do you listen generously when you're on a conference call? First thing is, if you can do video conferencing, that would be the number one thing to do. It's proven that you'll have ninety percent better engagement if you're looking at each other, and a lot of teams are employing that one hundred percent. So that's my first recommendation.
If you can't do a video conference, then you definitely want to announce at the beginning of the call that we're gonna give our full attention to this call, and we need to put down our devices and really generously listen to each other. If you're a participant on the call, then you wanna get away from your computer, put your phone away, turn it over if you have to, and take out a piece of paper. You could have a notebook or you could have a big piece of paper and write down your thoughts or your questions that are about what's being spoken about. And then if you have a question, make sure that you ask it.
If you have a comment, make sure that you communicate it so that you're not just sitting there passively engaged in this call because then you could get bored and you could, you know, get really distracted. So the point of being in any meeting or on any call is to be there fully, one hundred percent open, present, and connected.
