In the Levels of Trust part of the training, we talk about the the four element.
You say in the video, don't hire in sincere people because it's just it's really hard to work with. And I've gotten the question, well, what do I do though if there's someone on my team that feels insincere to me?
Yeah. So we say or I would say at this point, it's what I actually believe, is that if someone is insincere or someone is not trustworthy, then the best relationship you can have with them would be transactional.
So you do wanna have certain boundaries. You get to the this the sincerity thing. I mean, what you're really saying is, I believe I work with Sauna, is insincere.
Meaning, they say one thing and they mean another, or they're manipulative, or they lie, or they're deceitful, or they steal my ideas. So if you've ever had an experience like that, unfortunately, there are certain number of people that that's what they do. You want to handle them with care.
Be very careful what you share. Be very transactional with them. If someone asks you intimate details of your life, you don't show.
You're careful. Right? I mean, we do wanna pick and choose who we share stuff with if there's someone that we really don't trust. And I think that these these are the things you probably should raise with your manager.
If you think there's someone on your team that isn't pulling their weight and they're lying about it, then, you know, have a one on one conversation with the manager and see if there are facts that can be gathered because people you know, we talk about it like it's a character issue. It's not something you learn. It's not something you learn out of either most mostly. I mean, occasionally, could someone show Maybe.
But this is more character issue, and those are the people we don't want in the companies. Yeah. We don't we just want to protect ourselves from those people. It's something you know, we read a lot more about toxic employees in the workplace, and there's a certain percentage of people that you're gonna come across that are going to be unhealthy.
Like, all the all the rules change. You know? That's why indigenous people and people in other other times, they they have ways of getting those people that, you know, you hear about indigenous tribes that, you know, had ways of just, like, ignoring people or pushing them out, shunning them. It's it's interesting to think about how societies have always had to manage that type of person to not corrupt or corrode or infiltrate the community.
We don't we don't have that nowadays. We are not very good at protecting ourselves from people that can do harm.
It's funny that you say that because yesterday, someone that I know posted on a, like, a private a private Twitter account, so only people who have been invited to it can be in it, Said, hey. Just wanna let everybody know and then put someone's name. Like, this guy is not a good guy. I really did a lot of bad things.
Anybody who's on this who's also following me and who wants to weigh in here, who also had an experience with him, he just started this new account. So I just wanna make everyone aware that this guy is here. And they're all, like I'm just watching them all talk about it. Like, oh, yeah.
This happened, and it was really bad. And he started this other account too. You guys are just, like, blocked that account too because he's gonna try to warm his way in. He's gonna try to talk to you and don't give him any personal details and all this stuff.
Like, I'm so glad I'm following this guy. I wouldn't have known this. You know? But the block button is now the way to shun.
So it's funny how we kinda do have that into we kind of just know. Intuitively, it's sort of like once we've had a bad experience with someone, we wanna let other people know. But, you know, unfortunately, people still get hyped. So when you see things like George Santos, you know, here's a this guy who lies about everything, to the point of being ridiculous, except he's in the Senate or a Congress or wherever he is, and he's still there, and they can't get rid of him, and they're gonna get rid of him, and he's finally gonna get the vote. He's finally gonna get out of the dust. But there's so much evidence for his lies, yet he, you know, he's there because one of the reasons he's there is because of all of his lies.
