When You Just Don’t Care to Listen

Had a funny one in this last training. Someone said, well, I recognize that I am not a great listener, and the reason is I just don't care. I just don't care what people are saying. So this is really hard for me.
It's really awkward. Like, I'd do I just pretend to care? Like, I don't know what to do. And they were saying it, like, in life in general, when people start telling me stuff, I just I don't really have a a very genuine sense of care.
You know?
Yeah. I mean, I've heard a similar type of thing where people say, oh, I'm I'm I mean, it's just boring to me. I'm not interested.
Then we would shift to how how do you feel about this person?
So sometimes, you know, I've I've seen people that will say, well, I really I I I care about the person. Well, if you care about the person, then listening to their boring stories is a demonstration of you caring. If you're saying I don't care about other people, that person is saying, well, I don't but I don't care about the other people. There's no one you care about at all?
You don't care about anybody? Then I would say, what about the results? Do you care about your results? Right?
Because if you care about getting good results, you're gonna have to figure out a way to to listen to the people you don't really care about, or it's gonna impact your results.
I love that getting down to what what does matter to this person so that they can connect that.
