Resistance and Being Present

April 20, 2020

Resistance is a human reaction when something changes that we want to stay the same.

Carl Jung said, "what we resist not only persists, but will grow in size".

When we resist we are avoiding looking at, and experiencing the feelings this change is causing. But trying to resist doesn't change the underlying facts, it just makes us unable to deal with them fully.

When we are not being present to what is happening, including what is happening to us, meaning our feelings about what is happening we miss out on important life lessons.
